Values BASED LIVING

WHAT DOES YOUR HAPPY LOOK LIKE?

When I ask most of my clients what their goal is for therapy, usually they say something like “I just want to be happy.” But what does that really mean and how do we get there?

Here are some signs that you may NOT be living by your values:

You might feel like everything looks good on the outside but you feel unhappy on the inside.
You might be feeling stuck and unsure of what you want or what's next in life.
You might be feeling lonely and unsatisfied in your relationship.
You might be questioning your work or direction in life.

You find yourself feeling like "there has to be more to life than this."

It can be hard to admit these feelings. It's not usually what we talk about over dinner with friends or in the lunchroom with co-workers. But MOST people have thoughts like these on a daily basis. You don't have to settle for merely surviving when you could have so much more.

CONNECTING TO YOUR WHY

Why do we do anything that we do?

Is it for money? For prestige? To feel important? To feel valuable? I’ve found that a lot of people end up in situations and circumstances that keep them disconnected from what really matters to them, which often leads to them feeling unhappy and unfulfilled.  Our work will focus on helping you to identify and re-connect to your values and make choices that lead you in their direction. We will work on centering your life around what's most important to you and then take action steps toward constructing a life for yourself that feels full, exciting, and worthwhile.

LIVE WITH PURPOSE

Even if you’re feeling lost now, I can help you find your way. Counseling can help you re-connect to your hopes and dreams, feel inspired and excited, and make choices that are in line with your values.

Life is short and it's already full of really hard stuff. Why do we stay in jobs we hate? Why do we cling to unsatisfying relationships? Why do we allow others to dictate our potential? Let's help you redefine what your purpose really is and then put you back in the driver's seat of your own life.

A LETTER FROM BEKA

I see you...

You wonderfully “normal” people who may be feeling not so normal in the quiet of your mind, late at night, when you lay your head on the pillow, wondering yet again “How did I get here? Is this really my life?"

I know that place is scary, maybe even so scary you're afraid to admit you're there, afraid to say it out loud.

You might be thinking:

What if things change? What if they don't?

Admitting it to someone else makes it real.

Asking for help makes me feel crazy and defected.

Trusting someone else is a risk, one I'm not sure I'm willing to take.

What will other people think?

What if it's too hard? What if I can't do it?

If any of that sounds familiar, I want you to know that you are perfectly NORMAL and that most of us find ourselves there at some point or another.

We get trapped on this merry-go-round in our heads and sometimes it can be impossible to get off without some outside help. There is nothing wrong with that! It simply means that it's time to acknowledge that what you're doing isn't working anymore.

It's time for something new.

If I can promise you anything, it's this... you don't have to do it alone. I know it's tempting and it often feels much safer that way. But the reality is we're not built to do life alone, and the longer you resist, the harder it is to receive help.

I see your suffering. I know it well. And I want you to know, it doesn't have to be that way. There is hope and joy and beauty in this world. Most of us just need help getting out of our own way in order to find it again.

I see you. I’ve been you. I want to help you. Let’s talk.
